Hi there,

I'd just like to voice my support for keeping Hardwar alive it was a special game that got the rare mix if elements to be timeless.
I'm no programmer but is there anything else you could use a hand with?

- Both are free and open source that allow as many people to contribute without any problems.
- Ogre 3D has many commercial games using it, is very well documented and compiles on many different platforms.
- Ogitor is a little more rougher in terms of UX however quite usable for our needs, it also runs on ogre itself so integration is easier. So far it's the best editor i've seen that's Ogre based.

I would like to contribute, possibly work on programming. Anything really, as this was one of the first games I ever played. My question is why are you using Ogre3D and Ogitor?

I am also curious what is the programming language?

I too feel like the story often got in the way of an 'Elite' style open ended game. But without the story, their may not be enough to sustain a game.

I wish I had the knowledge to help, the games I badly need a sequel or improved versions of, are Elite, Hardwar & Fragile Allegiance (in that order). Elite IV seems to be a long way away, whilst this looks real.

I have followed hardwar since 1994 when it was called 'moth'.on gremlin devnet forums.my only objection was that the videos (with some questionable content) detracted from the freeform open ended nature of the game.if I could develop hardwar I would only add the following things-levels,as your moth progressess up the technology ladder with many incremental upgrades such as engine, power and rudder that when maxed out allow you to progress to higher level craters which are richer and more affluent with higher tech moths with bigger power bases and heavier weapons.
